HOW TO BUY
2020 has been far from what we expected. With COVID-19 and social injustice issues in America, 2020 has been a year we have all wanted to forget. It all started with the death of the great Kobe Bean Bryant. In times like this, we need to find ways to stay positive and celebrate the positives in our lives. Mamba Week is Nike’s way of celebrating the life of Kobe.
Mamba week Begins August 23, which would have been Kobe’s 42nd Birthday. On this day, Nike is releasing the Kobe V “Big Stage” colorway at 2 PM EST. This black and white colorway has tattoo-style accents and is in memory of Kobe’s 5th Championship Win.
On August 24th (8/24), Nike will release the “5X Champ” colorway and the Black Mamba Jersey at 10 AM EST. The “5X Champ” is dressed in purple and black with gold accents and would go perfectly with the Black Mamba Jersey. The iconic jersey is black with a snake-skin pattern and features 3D-style gold lettering. The jersey will have number 8 on the front and 24 on the back.
The next release will take place exclusively at Undefeated on August 27; this pack is a higher price than the other releases because it features two shoes. Nike and Undefeated collaborated to make the “What If” pack. These two shoes get their inspirations from the teams that missed out on drafting the Legend Kobe Bryant. The multi-color pair contains the colors of the 12 teams that passed on Bryant; the teal and white pair come from the Charlotte Hornets who traded their 13th overall pick to the Lakers.
Last but not least is the Kobe V Protro Girls EYBL. EYBL is short for Elite Youth Basketball League and this shoe is meant to be an inspiration to the next generation of female ballers. The Medusa-inspired shoe has a dark green hue with pops of yellow and red. This drop will be available on August 29 at 10 AM EST and wraps up Mamba Week.
Each individual shoe retails at $180 with the “What If” Pack coming in at $390. The Black Mamba Jersey will be available for $120. Stay plugged in for more updates on Mamba Week and reminders for release. Expect these items to sell out fast so be ready!
